 Icon by Cynosure

The Icon laser is used to treat several skin conditions including red facial vessels (Rosacea) and brown pigmentation (melasma), surgical and acne scars, stretch marks.  It's non-ablative, fractional component treats fine lines and wrinkles with a minimum of downtime.

VBEAM by Candela (pulsed-dye laser)
The VBEAM is used to treat a number of conditions including dilated veins (spider veins, telangiectasia) on the face and legs, port wine stains (hemangiomas), cherry angiomas, scars (which have a red appearance), and warts.

The VBEAM produces an intense burst of light, which gently and harmlessly passes through the skin and is selectively absorbed by the blood vessel. This causes heat to be generated in the blood vessel, destroying it but not damaging the surrounding tissue. The Scleroplus has an added technology, called the dynamic cooling device (DCD); this device sprays a burst of cryogen (cold spray) on to the skin shortly before the laser beam. The DCD provides both an anesthetic effect as well as protecting the skin from any unnecessary damage.

The procedure is quite simple. It requires no anesthesia or special prepping. The laser is simply aimed at the vessel to be treated and the laser energy is delivered. A mild rubber-band like sensation is felt. Instantly, the treated vessel turns a violaceous color. This bruising/violaceous hue will last approximately 7-10 days. Make-up can be applied to conceal the bruising. The vessels resolve in 4-6 weeks. Often it may take 2-3 treatments to completely obliterate the vessels. Aside from the bruising effect, the only other side effects, which may occur, are temporary swelling, and/or temporary increased/decreased pigmentation at the site of treatment. These effects are very rare.

GentleMax Laser Hair Removal

The GentleMax™ Laser treatment is the newest and most powerful way to permanently remove or reduce unwanted hair on virtually any part of the body. The system contains two lasers: The Alexandrite, for lighter skin and The Yag for darker skin. Unlike other laser treatments, the GentleMax™ laser system has been designed to work on any patient with minimal risk (even in darker skin tones) and can remove hundreds of hair follicles at the same time.   Most patients require 4 - 6 treatments for permanent hair removal.  Treatment of any site begins with shaving of the excess hair; waxing or plucking cannot be used since this removes the target of the laser, (i.e. pigmented hair follicle).

GentleMax Vascular Laser

The GentleMax™ Laser can be used to reduce the appearance of Leg Veins, Hemangiomas, Venous Lakes and Blue Facial Veins.

Nd: Yag Laser
The Nd: Yag laser is used to treat pigmented lesions including solar lentigenes (age spots, liver spots), moles, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and tattoos. Depending on the depth and darkness of the pigmentation, a specific wavelength of light (either 532 or 1064nm) is used to vaporize the pigmentation. The body slowly reabsorbs the vaporized pigment over a period of 4-6 weeks.

The procedure involves no anesthesia. The laser is delivered to the skin; this feels like a small rubber-band snap. Instantly, there is a whitening effect of the area treated; this is short-lived, and the area treated soon takes on a somewhat darker, sometimes even crusted appearance. Within 1-2 weeks this darkening/crusting peels off resulting in a lightening of the treated area. Often, lightening is not complete and will require several treatments. Solar lentigenes are often treated with 1-2 treatments whereas tattoos may require 5-10 treatments. Side effects may include temporary darkening or lightening of the treated site.

Fungal Laser
We offer laser treatment for onychomycosis.   Patients will undergo 3 separate treatment sessions with virtually no side-effects. The treatment session lasts about 15 minutes is done in the privacy of one of our comfortable treatment rooms.
Fungal nail infection, or onychomycosis,  is an infection underneath the surface of the nail, which can also penetrate the nail. Nail Fungus can cause difficulty and pain when walking or running.  These infections are often accompanied by a secondary bacterial and/or yeast infection of the nail plate.
A group of fungi called dermophytes easily attack the nail, thriving off keratin, the nail's protein substance. When the tiny organisms take hold, the nail may become thicker, yellowish-brown or darker in color, and foul smelling. Debris may collect beneath the nail plate, white marks frequently appear on the nail plate, and the infection is capable of spreading to other toenails, the skin, or even the fingernails.
